Business Integrity

A key partner of Koncision Contract Automation is Business Integrity, developer and marketer of ContractExpress, the market-leading family of online document assembly products. Koncision’s document-assembly system is powered by ContractExpress, and Business Integrity will be performing various technology services for Koncision.

Business Integrity was founded in 2001 and is privately held, with offices in New York and London. It has an impressive client list of leading corporations and law firms in the U.S., U.K., and internationally. Its corporate clients include Microsoft, AXA, PepsiCo, Amazon, McAfee, Cisco Systems, Christies, Cadence, Logitech, and Henkel Corporation; its law-firm clients include Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Latham & Watkins, Linklaters, Littler Mendelson, Wilson Sonsini, Perkins Coie, Poyner Spruill, Stikeman Elliot, and Borden Ladner Gervais. For more information, visit www.business-integrity.com.

From Ken Adams’s perspective, just as important as Business Integrity’s technology has been the fact that BI’s management—including Tim Allen, who manages BI’s North American operations—shares Ken’s vision of what’s required for optimal contract drafting.

The part of ContractExpress that Koncision users will experience is the ContractExpress questionnaire. For more information about the questionnaire, see the Koncision FAQs and the ContractExpress help files.

Efficient word processing of Word documents requires efficient handling of Word styles—the formatting instructions used to determine the look of a Word document. How Word styles are handled in Koncision documents is particularly important, given the important role that enumeration plays in contracts and given that all Koncision documents use the MSCD numbering scheme.

For that reason, Koncision recommends that to apply the MSCD numbering scheme to documents you use The Numbering Assistant, a paragraph-numbering utility that allows you to quickly add, modify, and update automatic multi-level numbering schemes in Word documents. For more about The Numbering Assistant, go here; for more about using The Numbering Assistant to apply the MSCD numbering scheme, go here.

Consistent with that recommendation, one version of our confidentiality-agreement template was formatted using The Numbering Assistant. For more information on formatting considerations when revising a Word documents generated when you complete a Koncision questionnaire, go here.

The Numbering Assistant is developed by PayneGroup, a leading provider of metadata removal and desktop automation software, training, and project management services and publications for law firms, corporations, and government agencies. For more information about PayneGroup, visit www.payneconsulting.com/.

By the way, Koncision isn’t being paid to promote The Numbering Assistant and won’t receive any commissions on sales. We’re bringing The Numbering Assistant to your attention simply because it makes our work easier, and because if you wish to use the MSCD numbering scheme, we think The Numbering Assistant would make your work easier too.
